Scriptures:

Helaman 5:6 Behold, my sons, I desire that ye should remember to keep the commandments of God; and I would that ye should declare unto the people these words. Behold, I have given unto you the names of our first parents who came out of the land of Jerusalem; and this I have done that when you remember

Psalms 77:11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

D&C 3:3 Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men;

My thoughts:

Returning thought to something we have thought before. Bringing to remembrance. We are commanded to remember. The opposite of forgetting.

Remember

Websters 1828 Dictionary:

1. To have in the mind an idea which had been in the mind before, and which recurs to the mind without effort.
We are said to remember any thing, when the idea of it arises in the mind with the consciousness that we have had this idea before.

Quotes:

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."-Benjamin Franklin
"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."
-Confucius
"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything."
-Mark Twain
"Remember when life's path is steep to keep your mind even."
-Horace
"I realized that trying to remember had allowed God to show me what He had done. My point is to urge you to find ways to recognize and remember God’s kindness. It will build our testimonies."
-Henry B Eyring

Scriptures:

Helaman 5:6 Behold, my sons, I desire that ye should remember to keep the commandments of God; and I would that ye should declare unto the people these words. Behold, I have given unto you the names of our first parents who came out of the land of Jerusalem; and this I have done that when you remember.

Alma 37:13 O remember, remember, my son Helaman, how strict are the commandments of God. And he said: If ye will keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land—but if ye keep not his commandments ye shall be cut off from his presence.

My Personal Definition:

We must 'remember the Lord our God' His work is the work that truly matters. We should remember the commandments and the atonement of Christ.
