  • Scriptures:

Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.
I added this scripture to think about it a little more. And so I looked into it a little more, in the scriptures balance means money, but so does weight.  But they both also mean measurements. So I think this scripture means "A false balance (worldly things) is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight (heavenly treasures) is his delight.
Isaiah 40:12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
I love how this talks about the world creation, and how Heavenly Father balanced it out perfectly.
Job 6:2 Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!

    Quotes:

Toleration is the greatest gift of the mind; it requires the same effort of the brain that it takes to balance oneself on a bicycle.
    -Helen Keller-
Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.
    -Thomas Merton-
A wise woman recognizes when her life is out of balance and summons the courage to act to correct it, she knows the meaning of true generosity, happiness is the reward for a life lived in harmony, with a courage and grace.
    -Suze Orman

     My Thoughts:

In order to be happy, we must have balance. We will have perfect balance if we are following Christs footsteps. Have you ever walked through snow, knee deep? You don't know when you'll fall through or stay up or slip. But say someone has already walked the path, the footsteps are already taken? This is like our lives, Christ has already prepared the way; he has already walked the path and made the foot prints. All we have to do is follow Him.
