Webster's 1828 Dictionary:
1. Determination, as of a question or doubt; final judgment or opinion, in a case which has been under deliberation or discussion; as the decision of the Supreme Court. He has considered the circumstances of the case and come to a decision.Quotes:

And if, after a careful re-hearing, any additional light is shown upon the case, the decision shall be altered accordingly.
And in case that any decision of these quorums is made in unrighteousness, it may be brought before a general assembly of the several quorums, which constitute the spiritual authorities of the church; otherwise there can be no appeal from their decision.

From the decision of the former there can be an appeal; but from the decision of the latter there cannot.
My thoughts:
Choosing something over something else. Making up your mind. Your decision should be based upon high moral standards. You cannot avoid decisions. Are some decisions more important than others?
