Awakening

Webster's 1828 dictionary:

A revival of religion, or more general attention to religion, than usual.

Scriptures:

Alma 55:18 But had they awakened the Lamanites, behold they were drunken and the Nephites could have slain them.

Mosiah 4:5 For behold, if the knowledge of the goodness of God at this time has awakened you to a sense of your nothingness, and your worthless and fallen state—

Quotes:

Awakening the desire to know enables our spiritual capacities to hear the voice of heaven. Finding a way to awaken and nurture that desire is the quest and responsibility of each of us—missionaries, parents, teachers, leaders, and members. -Thomas S Monson

Awakening the desire to know enables our spiritual capacities to hear the voice of heaven. Finding a way to awaken and nurture that desire is the quest and responsibility of each of us—missionaries, parents, teachers, leaders, and members. As we feel that desire stirring in our hearts, we are prepared to benefit from the learning of the second scripture that I want to mention. -Elder Paul E. Koelliker

Song:

Who am I? What special purpose is mine?
I follow winged sparrow, and I yearn, I yearn to soar.
I hear the ocean’s thunder. There is pow’r! But what am I?
I see lilies blooming where the winter storms have swept the field.
I feel the sun; I feel that by its radiance I see all that God created.
I, too, am God’s creation and he knows me as his own.

My Thoughts:

Awakening, Ah-ha moment, coming to an understanding. We are best awakened, and enlightened by the spirit. We can be inspired into an awakening. When we make connections we might come to an awakening. Doing word studies is definitely an awakening for me!
