Church

Webster's 1828 Dictionary:

1. A house consecrated to the worship of God, among Christians; the Lords house. This seems to be the original meaning of the word. The Greek, to call out or call together, denotes an assembly or collection. But, Lord, a term applied by the early Christians to Jesus Christ; and the house in which they worshiped was named from the title.

Scriptures:

Mosiah 25:22 And thus, notwithstanding there being many churches they were all one church, yea, even the church of God; for there was nothing preached in all the churches except it were repentance and faith in God.

Mosiah 18:17 And they were called the church of God, or the church of Christ, from that time forward. And it came to pass that whosoever was baptized by the power and authority of God was added to his church.

Quotes:

"This church was organized by the power of the priesthood, by one called of God by revelation.
We know that God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to a young boy, Joseph Smith, and from then on he was continually guided by revelation. Regarding the establishment of the Church we read this:
“The rise of the Church of Christ in these last days … by the will and commandments of God. …"
   -N. Eldon Tanner
Prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the church; it is a goodly Christian weapon.
-Martin Luther

German Word:
