- Many times before Christ comes or talks to the people there is a great silence. I believe that before we talk to God through prayer or read the scriptures for answers that we should sit in silence for just a minute and calm ourselves and listen.
- My Personal Definition
- Silence is being quiet. Being quiet does not mean all around us is quiet. When something is silent we can feel the quiet around us, there is no noise.
- Silence bring peace. Before a class or test or study time I like to have some silent time to bring peace into the room. There is already so much contention and noise in the world that we do not need to add to it with noise in our homes and relationships. Often times the best way to bring peace is to be silent.
- Listening is a big part of silence. There is a time to talk and a time to listen. When everyone is talking at once the noise only grows and the contention grows and the frustration grows. You cannot seek to understand if you insist on talking.
